From alpine to car

It wasn’t car that was Andreas’ priority from the start; it was a skier he was going to be. And he was succeeding when a knee injury put a stop to the promising career. The knee injury demanded a change of plans and then it had to be car sport.

Got his licence in Wales

In England you can get your licence when you are 17. Andreas practised a lot and got his licence on the first try three days after he turned 17. And then he was ready to race.

Fantastic results

He has every reason to be pleased! His result has gotten attention in the international rally community. After his debut race in Wales Andreas had beaten every record. He won every speed test, and was a clear winner as the youngest racer ever. He was driving a Ford Focus 2002, which was Henning Solberg’s old car. In his next race in Scotland he drove a Ford Focus 2005. This race was not just as successful as the first, but in a way it went very well after all.

He chose to get help and finished the race to get the practice. The fun part is that he won every remaining speed tests, and probably would have won the whole race.

Andreas went back to Wales to compete in the Old Ranges Rally. Here he drove a Subaru Impreza N11. He got a second place in this race, despite of engine problems.

He now has six victories totally and a 10. place in the WC round in Rally Norway. He is very happy with his debut season so far. The next world championship round is in Portugal and Andreas is looking forward to it!
