Most ice-coffee drinks are espresso based and from that you can make everything from the simplest ice-coffee, shakerato (espresso, sugar and ice cubes) to more advanced drinks. The espresso can be made a little “shorter” than usual, about 20-25ml. If you don’t have an espresso machine, the drinks can also be made with strong coffee.

No one is as sweet as you…
Many people think that cold coffee has a scathing and sour flavour, and that it is almost impossible to make a good ice-coffee without extra sweetening like syrup, sugar or sweet fruit. You can use espresso or coffee that is pre-cooled, then the sweetening should be done while the coffee is still hot and the sugar is more solvable. If you want to serve larger amounts, it may be smart to prepare a mutual basis and make all the drinks from that. An other tip; you can save an operation if you freeze coffee ice cubes in advance!
Ice-coffee can be with or without milk, thick or thin. What creates the differences is whether you use a blender or a shaker, when preparing the drink, whether the coffee is served with whole or crushed ice cubes, and if it besides coffee is milk or other main ingredients in the drink.

Shake it up baby now, twist and… blend!
Fill a shaker halfway with ice cubes. Add the wanted ingredients and shake well for about 30seconds. Serve in a glass filled with ice.
Using a blender gives the drink a thicker consistency, like a smoothie. All ingredients are mixed to a smooth mass in the blender. Syrup may be substituted for real fruit which gives a more natural flavour. An idea is to cut the fruit in pieces and freeze the before they are used.
