![]() Ladies eveningIt all begins Friday night, but only for the women. Around seven o’clock the ceremony is held where the women greats the bride and wishes her the best of luck. Afterwards they enjoy them selves with music and a bit of rum.![]() Food for 300 guestsAll of Saturday is spent cocking. The women have to cock for 300 guests, so that is quite a job. The tradition says that the food is to be based on seven different kinds of vegetables, and they are very strict on keeping tradition. There is not to be eaten any meat before the last day of the wedding.![]() Cleansed with saffronThe tree hundred guests are gathered to participate in the flower ceremony the day before the wedding. Pooja and her family is blessed by the minister, then the flower ceremony is ready to begin. The minister starts by rubbing saffron on Pooja´s shoulders, knees, feet and on her head. Then he repeats the procedure on her family. Now hundreds of her friends and family are in line to rub saffron on the bride, this is to cleanse her soul before the wedding.![]() A Beautiful coupleThe next day is the wedding day. Vicky is already standing in front of the scene with his father and brothers, he is clearly nervous and very focused.Then his bride comes out. Pooja looks stunning. She is coming towards the scene along with her family. Vicky and Pooja is standing in front of each other, they put flowers around each others necks, and then there is a long ceremony where family and friends throw white flowers at the bride and groom and wishes them luck. When hundreds of the guests have done this the wedding ceremony can begin. ![]() The wedding ceremonyThe minister is ready with his microphone. Incense is lid and there is a small fire that is lid in a bowl. The minister is preaching and bowls with liquids are being passed between the bride and groom, and in the end it is thrown at the fire. The bride’s family is on stage to do their duties and then Pooja and Vicky walks around the fire tree times before the guests’ starts throwing flowers on them. Close family and friends are in queue to shower them with fantastic presents, rings are exchanged and in the end arm rings. The whole thing takes about an hour and a half.The next day is followed with more celebration and dinner before the bride and the groom are of on their honeymoon to enjoy themselves.
