Aalesund (Ålesund) – the art nouveau city - Norway

Aalesund (Ålesund) has a lively and interesting story to tell since it became a city in 1848. Fish has always been the most important industry and it still is. There is a lot of fish going to all parts of the world. But the city has more to offer than fish – a lot more!

Reykjavik a capital with soul

Reykjavik is a nice capital. Not the worlds most beautiful, but a pulsating capital, with soul. Indeed they are building here as well and pretty comprehensive. But you can still find the small agreeable centre in Reykjavik as it used to be, concentrated between the harbour and Tjörnin, the small pond in the city.

La napoule – the capital of the Mimosa

Some places you consider a crossroad and drive right through. La Napoule on the French Riviera may be a place like that. With the film festival and Cannes as the nearest neighbour, just as far from the modern Monte Carlo as the celebrity playground St. Tropez and surrounded by pearls like St Paul, Vence and Mougis, lies La Napoule. It may be hard to notice, but you should not pass it.

Brazil – Sol do Atlántico Spa & Resort

A great place, both the location and the project it self. Only 35 minutes from the airport. Sol do Atlántico lies on a height and has a fantastic view directly to the Atlantic Ocean. On the area there is an over 3 000m² pool area, lots of green and several playgrounds. Only 150m from the area there are several km of sand beaches. It is fantastic says Rune Sandnes in RTR Property.

Rome – golf in the eternal city

It rains a bit when we land at Ciampino Airport a Thursday afternoon in March. It is a little colder than in Oslo, but that is ok. The flight to Rome is only three hours from Oslo, one hour shorter than to Lisbon and Malaga and about the same as Nice. Just enough time to refresh the history knowledge.

The smell of spring, the taste of coffee

The month of May is refreshing, inspiring and seducing, I thing I’ll take my coffee and sit outside! Did you know that coffee grow on trees? Trees that grow around the equator and that needs to be 3-5 years old before they get flowers that makes fruit. Fruit that takes nine months to season and turn red or sometimes yellow. To make one kilo of coffee it takes about 5 000 berries and the berries are mainly picked by hand.

A licence to krill…

Krill is a tiny crayfish animal that lives in Antarktis – but don’t let the size fool you… this animal is food for gigantic whales, millions of penguins and seabirds – and the primary nutrient for many fish species. In addition to that the krill may be worth millions of dollars.

Spain

What makes you go on a trip to Spain alone and mid winter? A wish for a week time-out, away from hard work, a sudden need for impulses and a refill.

L’Oasis in La Napoule

When you need a place to rest, to cool down, a place to eat and drink well and restore physically and mentally, it is easy to think of a place like this like an oasis. The little town La Napoule on the French Riviera has a place like this. It lies a bit secluded, in the block behind the beach promenade, and is of course called L’Oasis. And what an oasis it is!
