Mirihi – wading in icing sugar

The island Mirihi is a real experience. A small, but huge experience. Because the Island is a tiny bunker of sand, measures 300 times 50 meters, and is very idyllic and exotic.
Article imageHere lies the small hotel Mirihi Island Resorts, with its 36 rooms – 6 on land and the rest on poles in the water. Smart, because there is barely room for that many houses on the island when there is a reception, a bar, a couple of restaurants, a scuba diving centre and a spa. With 70 guests the island is full! And there are 125 employees to make the stay an unforgettable experience for the visitors.

Barefoot luxury

From the moment you put your foot on this island you understand that it is special. You put your foot in the softest, finest sand there is. It’s like putting your feet in cool, white icing sugar. No matter how much sun, the white sand at Mirihi stays cool. Mirihi is a 40minuts flight from the capital Malé. This is a barefoot island like most of the 1193 islands in this archipelago. There is so much sand everywhere, along the narrow paths, indoors and at the lovely beaches.
Mirihi is all about peace and quiet, resting and recharging. None of the rooms have television, they have a small library, and the world’s best spa! A three minutes walk along the beach, and you can enjoy a relaxing Balinese massage in lovely surroundings.

Straight of the terrace

The rooms or villas are standing on poles in the sea and are built with the terrace in centre. It is exits to the terrace both from the bedroom, bathroom and shower. Just to stand in the shower with this amazing view is an experience. Just take a few stairs down from the terrace and you’re in the water.
