Sleeping high

In April this year Lufthansa finished their new business section with seats that can be lied down, completely horizontal. These seats are being used on all the companies long flights, both west, south and east in the world.

The demand is ascending for this business class. People want to feel rested when they arrive. The tendency is shorter and more vacations, and they don’t want to spend several days to compensate for a jetlag and lack of sleep. Now they can sit comfortably, get a good meal, maybe work for a few hours or watch a movie before reclining the seat and get a few hours of sleep.

The seat it self is blue, grey and elegant, and is built in to a rounded box which works as a protection and as your little private section when you sleep. There is lots of space in front of you. In a small compartment between the seats there is room for your shoes, and just above the shoe compartment is the life west. The seat it self is an advanced wonder that can be adjusted in every direction and for every need. It is about 50cm wide and comfortable with a built in massager.

Lufthansa offers a wide range of games, presentation films from the destinations, a small language course, music channels, tv-series, news and sports, and 25 movies. It is all shown at a 20,4 inch screen. The food is ok with Korean course Bibimap, a mixture of rice and vegetables, as a starter, a piece of well done meat with a brown sauce, a little simple and boring. Good but nothing more. Then follows some delicious cheese and a pumpkin pie with with vanilla cream. The wines on the other hand are exquisite!

The service on board is excellent! From the first moment they take very well care of you, the jacket is hung in a closet, champagne is served before take of and you feel really welcome.

The flight is often the beginning of a nice trip, either its business or pleasure, and it is important to set the standard at once. It is the total experience that counts, and the flight is an important part of the total experience.
