More Norwegians seek luxury and recreation when they book their vacation. Experience shows that more than 20 percent of the total Norwegian travel market seeks more luxury and the feeling of luxury when choosing their vacations.

The tourism is strangling our planet earth. Are we loosing control? Could we turn the turbo tourism to something positive? These are topics journalist, globetrotter and author Arild Molstad discuss in his new book «where should we travel before it’s too late? » He has visited about 90countries, is representing National Geographic Norway, a counsellor for FN’s centre for world legacy, and is a bit worried about the development.

The island Mirihi is a real experience. A small, but huge experience. Because the Island is a tiny bunker of sand, measures 300 times 50 meters, and is very idyllic and exotic.

The Maldives is a lovely break from cold Norway in February. One night on the plane from London to the capital Malé, and you can spot the beautiful islands in the mourning sun. Palm islands with white sand against turquoise ocean, surrounded by coral reef and deep blue sea. The airport is a concrete line in the Indian Ocean, that amazingly enough can receive large jumbo jets. It is only a small boat ride from the capital Malé, and an hour ride from the island Meeru, our destination for this trip.
