After a Night in Alicante at Oliva Nova Golf Club and a round of golf, the trip goes north. Past Valencia, towards Tarragona. In Reus the hotel Mas Passamaner is a very special little hotel. It is typical for the creativity you may expect to find in Catalonia, Spain’s nation in the nation. The hotel has elegance while it is also kind of rocked. And you can se that is it built on the traditions of the Catalan architects like Montaner and Gaudi. And what a kitchen!!

The beautiful Pyrenees

The next day passes with farm visits, wine tasting, great local courses and great local conversations, before the trip goes further north. The next stop is Tunnel de Cadiz. A great long tunnel that cuts through Spanish mountains. On the other side are the Pyrenees. Beautiful, pointy mountains covered in snow 2-3000m above sea level as far as the eye can see.
There is nothing boring about golf in the Pyrenees. It is an amazing experience to walk around the course with the view of wild mountain tops in the north of Spain.

The best museum

In Figueres the Salvador Dali museum is filled with surprises, creativity and madness all together. It is a fantastic esthetic museum. The building is round as a cake and all red. Around the building there are placed large golden eggs! Inside the museum it is an open area with all of the exhibits in their own rooms from the gallery in three floors. This is a fantastic art experience.

The end of the trip is all cultural experience in Barcelona. First Parc Güell, Gaudis mixture of “Hundertwasser-buildings”, the Bobli garden in Firenze where half the population in Barcelona spends their Saturday morning. Then tapas and cava in narrow streets close to the Picasso-museum. And last what is supposed to be the highlight of the evening; the Barcelona opera. The opera is a beautiful building, but check what show is on and don’t buy your tickets in the loge if you want a good view.
