For many the next vacation is the “first vacation”, either with a new partner, as a married couple, as parents or grandparents. Every face in life comes with new concerns. If you’re going on the first trip with a new boyfriend or girlfriend it may be hard to experience that you can’t fall in to the first and best pub in London to eat “chilli con carne” and flush it down with a beer. Or maybe the four hours in the shoe store aren’t very popular.
The point is that a successful vacation is often a planned one. Think about what you want to experience and have the discussion before the trip. And remember to give and take.
If you travel with children it is even more important to plan ahead. Maybe the adults can decide what to do some days and the children can decide other days. Internet is a fantastic equipment for planning vacations.

Speaking of children, you know that you can send the kids to grandma alone for the vacation? They have to be over five, and it is a small extra charge to get someone to lead the child on board, and again to the ones that are waiting on the other end.
If you are physically challenged that is not going to stop you from flying. When you order your ticket tell your travel agency or airline about your special needs, i.e. a wheel chair.
With that being said, there is nothing left but to wish you a good trip. And remember the new carryon rules (no liquids that are not according to the rules), that your insurance is ok, and if you are travelling to more exotic destinations have checked the vaccines and visa.
