The car is to be tested in all possible situations – on all kinds of roads, through curves, rises and hills. The rout is carefully planed, and it appears that Tuscany I not at all as flat and dull as it appeared at first sight. Actually when you get a little higher you can see a wonderful landscape – sensual, soft and beautiful with fields and forests.

Ford has developed this model in cooperation with the Italian designers in Pininfarina in Torino. They had the responsibility for the cars “soft values”, but has managed to keep the recognisable Ford Focus lines, and also given it a touch of Italian elegance. With Italian finish and fresh colours Ford Focus blends nicely in with the Italian Tuscan nature. It is well stiffened with steel constructions and can take the sharp curves perfectly. You can’t feel a hint of twisting even if the top is down. The 2 litre gasoline engine reacts fast and direct at the end of every turn and it lies low and steady on the road. The cars driving qualities are optimal in these conditions. The Ford Focus Coupé-Cabriolet is probably best fitted for two people the width of the back seat is ok, but it is not much room for the legs. The baggage room is absolutely acceptable for a small convertible – 248 litres with the top down and 534 litres as a coupe. Yet this is not a family car that you would use to drive to Tuscany on a vacation. On the other hand the front is quite roomy and gives a feeling of generosity and luxury.

The diesel edition of the Ford Focus Coupé Cabriolet turns out to be even faster with even better reactions than the gasoline edition. When the top is on it is a sound proof, comfortable and quiet car. Although the long arched front window keeps the wind from bothering you significantly, it will always be more noise with the top down. But with no doubt this is a comfortable car.
